Pasig City is one of the oldest municipalities in the National Capital Region. It is just 12 kilometers away south-east of Manila. Last July 2, it has just celebrated its 442nd founding anniversary. It has become an official part of Metro Manila through the Presidential Decree No. 824 in 1975 and was converted into a city in the 1994. It consists of 2 Districts, 30 Barangays, and a population of 670,000 (based on the 2010 census). It has a total land area of 31 square kilometers and is classified as a highly urbanized city and is currently under the mayoral reign of Maria Belen.
Along with the progress of the neighboring municipalities like Makati and Pasay, Pasig has steadily made its way in as an established location for business and real estate. For some, it is only a city in which the Pasig River is located but actually it has become one of the prime locations for hotels and restaurants, especially around Ortigas, the most prominent financial and business center of the city. - Immaculate Conception Cathedral - It is also known as the Pasig Cathedral. The Immaculate Conception Cathedral is the oldest edifice in the territory of Pasig which was first built in 1575 and was reconstructed from 1722 to 1760.
- Bahay na Tisa - Bahay na Tisa has been the home of the Tech Family for seven generations up to present. It is considered as the oldest bahay na bato in Pasig. On June 30 2009, The City of Pasig has conferred the Bahay na Tisa the Dangal ng Pasig Award for Culture.
- Pasig City Museum - Formerly known as the Conception Mansion. It was built in 1937 and which once was used as a headquarters of Japanese during the WWII. It is located at one end of the Plaza Rizal in barangay San Jose. It has opened to the public as a museum in June 6, 2008, showcasing some of the city’s history and heritage.
- Cuartel Del Guardia Civil - During the outbreak of the Philippine Revolution in 1896, suspected Katipuneros were imprisoned, tortured and died here. After the Filipino-American War, it was acquired by Doña Clara Tambunting de Oliveros and in 1922 by Engineer, Mrs. Domingo Guanio.
